Abstract

Through academic performance, teachers measure the learning acquired by students, in relation to the objectives and contents of the programs of the subjects they teach in a school year implemented by educational institutions, which allows quantifying and evaluating school achievement of the students. However, there are factors that may not be disregarded when the modality is modified from face to face to distance classes and require from investigation, such as the answer to the question: What impact in the academic performance to influence in the results: media or instruction? . Therefore, in the present work a quantitative methodology was applied through statistical tools, to analyze whether teaching the subjects in person or virtually as a consequence of the current conditions derived from the COVID-19 pandemic, affects the academic performance of the students of the Bachelor of Agribusiness in a Public Higher Education Institution in Mexico; finding that the technology per se, does not promotes the knowledge, but it does, the way of imparting the subjects with the same content whether face to face or distance classes, with the support of instructional technology as impact factor in academic performance.
