Abstract

Objective: to propose a nursing care plan for the diagnostic labels of impaired gas exchange and the risk of unstable blood glucose levels in hospitalized patients diagnosed with diabetes and COVID-19. Methodology: a bibliographic review was carried out in various databases such as Cuiden, Elsevier, Dialnet, Scielo and Google Academic, of those works that analyzed nursing competencies in patients diagnosed with COVID-19 and diabetes mellitus. Subsequently, a nursing care plan will be produced with the two main diagnostic labels, as well as their nursing interventions under the NANDA, NIC and NOC taxonomy. Results: nursing care plans were developed for the diagnostic labels: a) impaired gas exchange and b) risk of unstable blood glucose level. Conclusion: the development of proposals about nursing care plans for hospitalized patients with diabetes and COVID-19 will contribute to the reduction of the main complications presented by these patients and will favor the standard of nursing staff care.
