Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the influence of stress on mental health of students, analyzing possible differences in such moments as his state of health and academic self-concept. It was an analytical study of prevalence, in which participated 100 students of medicine of Universidad Privada Maria Serrana. It was used as the basis for the methodology, the concept of the philosophy of life as a focus of investigations of causes that generate stress. Goldberg health questionnaire was used as scientific method for the identification of psychopathology disease, and evaluation of Holmes and Rahe Social readjustment scale was used to evaluate stress. Statistically significant difference between biological variables, psychosocial and substance abuse was found. These data indicate that individuals who suffer clinical somatic, psychic and psychosomatic manifestations, as well as changes in family dynamics, lead them, in many occasions, to the doctor’s family.
