Abstract

This article presents the main challenges faced by higher education institutions gathered in the Regional University Group of Chile, by virtue of the impacts that the health emergency caused by the 2019 New Coronavirus implies, in terms of institutional infrastructure. Contents that arise as a product of the work of twenty-eight specialists, gathered for the purpose of recommending courses of action to the plenary session of rectors of twenty-two houses of study, in order to respond to a new way of thinking, designing, operating and inhabiting university spaces. Courses of action that, by way of conclusion, are consigned in this manuscript with the purpose of highlighting the importance of architecture in people's health and its impact on the life expectancy of the population.
